Welcome to the new UBC Mining Grad Research Trip blog! Thanks for checking us out. If you didn't already know, the UBC Mining Grad Research Trip is an annual tradition that has taken UBC students all across the worlds. Our students have been to Chile, Brazil, Spain, Poland, Indonesia, China, and more! As this has proven to be a truly valuable experience for students year after year, we are continuing the tradition this year with the 12th annual trip to South Africa and Botswana.
We're getting very excited for our trip in May, and it's only 61 days away! We have a lot of exciting things planned while in South Africa and Botswana, so we'll make sure to post lots of updates along the way. As of now, you can look forward to us visiting the world's richest diamond mine, the world's largest automated mineral processing facility, and of course some of the most beautiful places in Southern Africa.
Before going any further, I'd like to thank all of our current sponsors. We are so grateful for the support of industry representatives as these trips are only possible because of their generosity. Thank you to all of those below:
If you are interested in sponsoring our trip, please feel free to contact us using the "Contact" tab at the top of the page. We're about 80% of the way to funding our trip, and hope that you can help!
See you next time,
